Coping Skills Inventory
|
Description
A 45-item inventory assessing the person's ability to cope with stress and difficulties. Low scores indicate poor coping skills, high scores indicate good coping skills. The test yields seven subscores:
- Reactivity to stress: low score means maladaptive reactivity to stress; high score signifies adaptive reactivity to stress;
- Ability to assess situation: low score means poor ability to correctly size up the situation; high score signifies a good ability;
- Self-reliance: low score means low self-relience; high score means high sef-reliance;
- Resourcefulnesslow score means low resourcefulness; high score means high resourcefulness;
- Adaptability and flexibility: low score means poor adaptability and low flexibility; high score means good adaptability and high flexibility;
- Proactive attitude: low score means passive attitude; high score means proactive attitude;
- Ability to relax: low score means poor ability to relax; high score means good ability to relax.
The test is suitable for adult and adolescent population. The text readability is qualified as follows: Flesh Reading Ease = 67.1; Flesh-Kincaid Grade level = 6.3.
